After his triumphant tournament weekend two weeks ago with two full successes - more on that in Efler with double strike new Home Tour record champion - the 11-time Home Tour champion Andreas Efler is heading for the overall standings of the three cushion ranking next weekend. The third to last round of the Home Tour circuit 2021/22 is on the program. A three cushion tournament will take place on Saturday, May 7th, followed by a five pins competition the following day (Sunday, May 8th). Athletes at MWS venues in 5 countries start and match online via the MWS system.
Three cushion leader is the season's dominator Georg Schmied with three wins and 27 pts, top of the ranking ahead of Efler (24 pts) and Truong (22 pts). Schmied and Truong are not participating in the tournament this time. So Efler could take the leaderboard and set up a showdown in the season finale in early June as the top trio's pursuers get closer to the top again. Zoran Gajs, who won the team competition with Efler two weeks ago, is one of Efler's strongest competitors this coming Saturday.
In the five pins ranking, Ernst-Jan Driessen, twice the season's winner, is in the lead with 19 pts and a comfortable margin ahead of Efler and Riml, who are tied for second place with 13 pts each. Efler and five pins maestro Luca Marzio Garavaglia have not registered for next Sunday. So the way seems free for Driessen, who is now the top favorite on Sunday for the title and could make a preliminary decision in his favor in the fight for the crown of the season. The best outsider chances for a coup on Sunday are attributed to Ernst-Jan's father, the veteran Ernest Driessen.
Tournaments and broadcasts on both days start at 10:00am. All live streams and live scores are provided free of charge on our live sports platform MYWEBSPORT.COM/LIVE:
