Almost 20 years ago Jeff Fijneman and Arie Hermans set the current Guinness world record in the category "Longest marathon playing three cushion billiards (singles)". In 2004, from February 12th to 14th, Fijneman and Hermans played a three cushion match over 45 hours and 10 minutes in Oosterhout (NL) - more on the Guinness website.
Now the two billiard players from Stuttgart, Ersin Dogan and Cemal Cay, want to break the mark of 50 hours of continuous billiards. The world record attempt is a joint project between Cay's and Dogan's "Night Café" and the billiard club BC Stuttgart 1891 e.V. in whose premises the world record attempt will take place.
BC Stuttgart has a MWS system with which the entire match will be recorded and broadcasted live on MYWEBSPORT.COM free of charge. The start of the world record attempt is scheduled for December 27th at 10:00 am, so the two record contenders would reach the targeted 50 hours of playing time on December 29th at 12:00 noon.
